The World Health Organization released a new report Global Recommendations on Physical Activity for Health. This document indicates that youth aged 5-17 years old should get 60 minutes or more of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily. These numbers are nothing new, but still, a reiteration of physical activity recommendations by the world’s leading health organization adds even more legitimacy to the existing guidelines. I look forward to the day when physical activity is a part of everyday life and doesn’t have to be ‘monitored’ to achieve health goals. Let’s get those kiddos (and ourselves) moving!
