Suggestions for stops along the School Food Tour Route have been flooding in. Thanks to everyone who has contacted me so far! I am encouraged by all of your positive notes and can’t wait to connect with the many farmers, teachers and community food advocates who are all doing fantastic work.
I will continue to update the map on my Route page as I refine the Tour’s scope.
Cheers and happy Saturday to you all!
Hi,
If you come through VT you’ll want to visit Cedar Circle Farm and Education Center. I run their education programs and work with schools and youth groups. Check us out on line. VT has rockin Farm To School programs and school gardens sprouting up everywhere. If you’d like any specifics I’d be happy to help you with organizations etc.
I could give you route tips too if you like. My husband and I rode our bicycles 9000 miles back in the 90’s. We meandered all over the place, staying mostly along the Canadian border, the West Coast, and lots of mountains. We were gone 3 years, worked about 1/2 that time and rode the rest in three 5 month segments. We stayed in 3 motels but otherwise camped. We also visited some schools to talk about our trip, just to inspire kids to think big.
Send me an email if you need some tips. Best of luck to you. You are bound to have an exciting and fulfilling adventure!
Be well, Cat
Thanks Cat! I’ll send you an email via your farm website.
Cheers,
Sara
